Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Oxford, Connecticut. This position involves handling a variety of accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliation. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excel in customer service, and demonstrate a solid understanding of financial processes. Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accurate invoice processing and timely payments.
- Perform account reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and resolve any discrepancies related to billing or payments.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to create, analyze, and manage financial data.
- Process purchase orders and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive financial information.
- Handle customer inquiries related to billing and payments, providing excellent service and support.
- Learn and adapt quickly to new accounting systems and tools to streamline processes.
- Assist with debits and credits, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting. Requirements - Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
- Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliation.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel for managing and analyzing financial data.
- Familiarity with invoice processing and purchase order management.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial information.
- Understanding of debits and credits and their application in accounting.
- Experience with Ariba or similar accounting systems is a plus.
