Description

This position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining buildings and grounds. Apart from cleaning, which is its main task, the janitor also performs certain security duties.

Responsibilities

  • Clean building floors by sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, waxing, and vacuuming.
  • Mow lawns, cut grasses, and trim shrubs or trees around the designated area.
  • Clean and polish office tables, chairs, desks and all other furniture used in the office or the entire building.
  • Dust mechanical devices such as monitors, desktops, printers, and any other device.
  • Clean windows, doors, glass, and mirrors using soapy water, sponge, and other cleaning substances.
  • Make minor repairs to plumbing, electrical, heating, and cooling systems.
  • Maintain the supply and equipment needed for cleaning duties.
  • Ensure that waste bins are emptied to prevent trash littering.
  • Replenish restroom supplies and ensure toilets are in good working condition.
  • Use proper safety measures when applying chemicals.
  • Unlock and lock building doors early in the morning and late in the evening as needed.
  • Utilize proper quality control and quality assurance procedures, following all work instructions.
  • Perform Production Technician 1 duties as required.

Requirements

  • Able to pay strict attention to detail and strictly follow instruction.
  • Able to distinguish color and odor.
  • Able to routinely lift heavy objects (50-60 lbs).
  • Able to communicate effectively.
  • Able to work in a noisy environment with large temperature variations.
  • Must possess a valid Washington State driver's license.
  • Requires facility upkeep/cleaning experience and ability to perform assigned duties.
  • Able to make minor repairs to fix plumbing, electrical, and mechanical faults.
  • Knowledgeable in facility security measures and reporting.
  • Able to perform daily duties regularly.
  • Able to lift heavy loads and bend or stand for long periods while carrying out cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Possess mechanical skills, good handling of tools, equipment and chemicals, and adherence to safety measures.
