Description Robert Half has partnered with a property management firm on their search for a success-driven Accounting Manager who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. This candidate will be responsible for overseeing the accounting team, managing accounts payable/receivable transactions, entering general ledger activities, preparing financial reports, reviewing cost analysis, analyzing variances, assisting with tax reconciliations, and overseeing the month end close process. We are looking for an Accounting Manager with solid financial analysis skillset, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong understanding of GAAP standards, and the capacity to multi-task while meeting crucial deadlines. Responsibilities:

  • Lead, train, and supervise both internal and external teams responsible for accounting processes, including month-end close activities.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, set clear and focused goals, and provide mentorship to support team development.
  • Analyze and improve accounting procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Participate in the monthly draw process, ensuring compliance and timeliness.
  • Coordinate and oversee the completion of annual audits in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in preparing property budgets and financial projections to support strategic planning.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal departments, property managers, financial institutions, investors, auditors, and external advisors.
  • Support deal closings, including acquisitions, dispositions, and financing transactions.
Requirements The ideal Accounting Manager MUST have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Other requirements for the Accounting Manager role include and are not limited to:
  • 3+ years of Real estate investment accounting/operations experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency with RealPage software is a big plus but not required
  • Strong leadership abilities and a proven track record in team management
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
