Accounting Manager

Brecke Mechanical Contractors is a family‑owned business serving Eastern Iowa for over 60 years. We are seeking a reliable and motivated Accounting Manager to join our dedicated team. The Accounting Manager will lead the financial team, work closely with Project Managers and senior leadership, and ensure accurate, efficient, and strategic financial operations.

Base pay range

$90,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee operations across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Dispatch, Purchase Order, Accounting, and Payroll departments.
• Conduct weekly reviews of work‑in‑progress across multiple departments to ensure timely execution.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to evaluate interdepartmental processes and identify opportunities for operational efficiency.
• Compile and present monthly financial statements, providing performance insights to executive management.
• Develop and manage the organization’s annual operating budget, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
• Analyze financial statement variances to identify necessary adjustments and ensure compliance with accounting standards and principles.
• Coordinate with the external accounting firm for annual year‑end reviews to support accurate financial reporting and tax return preparation.
• Foster strong cross‑functional relationships and deliver high‑quality customer service to both internal stakeholders and external partners.

This is NOT a remote position and requires on‑site presence Monday‑Friday 7:00 am‑3:30 pm, with some flexibility.

Pay

Pay range is $90,000‑$110,000 Salary, depending on experience.

Education / Certification, Experience, License, and Background

• Bachelor’s degree and five to six years of experience in accounting, finance, or business.
• Experience in union, trades, construction, or manufacturing accounting and ERP software is a plus.
• Prior experience with Acumatica ERP is highly desirable.
