Manufacturing Engineer - Clean Room Environment

Location: Simi Valley, California

Duration: Permanent Placement

Pay Range: $45/hr – $65/hr

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team and lead advanced microelectronics assembly in an ISO Class 7 (Class 10,000) Cleanroom environment. This role involves working on mission‑critical semiconductor devices that support the defense, aerospace, and space industries. Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise cleanroom assemblers while ensuring compliance with strict quality standards (MIL‑STD‑883, MIL‑PRF‑38535).
• Perform advanced processes such as wire bonding (gold & aluminum), die attach (silver glass, eutectic), and lid sealing (solder & weld hermetic packages).
• Program and operate advanced equipment, including Palomar 3880, BJ820, Palomar 8000i, BTU, SST, and Sikama.
• Design and validate assembly drawings and fixtures for automated systems.
• Assemble custom packaging, including ceramic LGA, flatpacks, CQFP, TSOP, ASICs, multichip modules, and space‑level devices.
• Train and certify new employees in cleanroom processes.
• Conduct QML Q and V level inspections on microelectronics using microscopes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Manufacturing) or equivalent industry experience.
• Hands‑on experience with semiconductor assembly and hermetic packaging.
• Knowledge of MIL‑P‑38535 and MIL‑STD‑883 standards.
• Proficiency in C, C++ programming, or related industry software.
• Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail for microcircuit assembly.
• Ability to work in full cleanroom gowning attire (bunny suit, gloves, coverings).
• Ability to pass a technical assessment, eye exam, and background check.
