Overview Entry Level Civil Engineer role at Indigo Land Design, LLC in Old Saybrook, CT. Full-time opportunity for an entry-level Civil Project Engineer at a dynamic and growing civil engineering firm. Ideal candidate will have exposure to civil site planning, land development, water/wastewater design, drainage design, and/or septic system design. Site development includes road design, grading, stormwater design, infrastructure engineering, transportation engineering, or related areas. The position involves working with engineers, project managers, architects, soil scientists, surveyors, contractors, and officials to produce plans, specifications, applications, and reports for residential and commercial projects. Ability to conduct outdoor activities such as site visits and soil testing is required. Candidate must have a BS in Civil Engineering with exposure to AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Assist in the design and development of civil engineering projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

Utilize CAD software, including Civil 3D, to design detailed schematics and project site plans. Update designs based on feedback from manager, client, and reviewers.

Assist in conducting soil testing, percolation tests, groundwater monitoring, and other site measurements to establish soil parameters and project feasibility.

Assist in investigation and analysis of data, maps, drawings, and other technical information.

Assist in performing calculations and assessments related to project specifications and requirements.

Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations related to project status and results.

Assist in the preparation and submittal of applications to federal, state and local agencies ensuring compliance with project specifications and approval requirements.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate system design and engineering solutions.

Liaise with clients, contractors, subconsultants, and other project stakeholders.

Develop project management skills to ensure projects are completed accurately and on time.

Travel locally as needed for client consultations, soil testing, on-site inspections, etc.

Demonstrate high interpersonal skills, integrity, motivation, and ability to be a self-starter.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Engineering with exposure to and/or strong interest in civil site/land development planning and design.

Exposure to AutoCAD/AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office, and Adobe applications.

Experience with technical writing encouraged.

Ability to analyze project needs and requirements to create appropriate site plans and designs.

Strong problem-solving, data analysis, and critical-thinking skills.

Effective verbal and written communication with teammates, clients, contractors, officials, and stakeholders.

Ability to travel locally for client consultations, soil testing, and on-site inspections.

High level of interpersonal skills, integrity, and motivation; ability to be a self-starter; professional attitude and appearance.

Detail-oriented, time management skills, and deadline-driven approach.

Team-oriented and able to work well within a collaborative environment.

Ability to carry and manipulate equipment up to 50 lbs and conduct soil testing with guidance.

License/Certification This role supports design, detailing, and administration of civil engineering projects while furthering technical and professional skills needed to obtain an E.F.E. certification and, ultimately, a Professional Engineering license.

Salary/Benefits

Salary Range: $75,000-$78,000
