PRS – Development and Calibration Engineer

The Propulsion System Development & Calibration Engineer is responsible for conducting propulsion systems development, testing, and calibration. The engineer will plan and coordinate day-to-day activities of a powertrain dynamometer, including interaction with technicians and support engineers. Responsibilities include developing test plans and timelines, generating reports, and evaluating new propulsion system hardware and powertrain technologies. The engineer will analyze and solve complex system problems related to propulsion system performance, fuel consumption, emissions, and core calibration development. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of experience in propulsion system development and calibration. Strong knowledge of internal combustion engines, electrified powertrain, and transmissions. Data acquisition experience collecting and processing data. Working knowledge of analysis and calibration tools, emissions development, and new propulsion system technologies. Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills. Good teamwork skills and ability to work independently. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications: Master of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university. Experience and overall knowledge in emissions development, OBDII diagnostics, and powertrain systems development. Calibration process knowledge using design of experiments and advanced optimization techniques. Proficient in advanced simulation tools and Matlab/Simulink.
