Position Overview
You will be part of the engineering team making Siemens Lexington the most efficient train manufacturer in the world. Your expertise will help establish production processes, and because Lexington is a new plant, your impact on process layout will be immediate and significant.
What your day‑to‑day will look like
Plan process flow, equipment layout, and line balancing
Design or source tools, templates, jigs, and fixtures based on engineering requirements
Work with other engineering functions, external vendors, and service providers
Prepare production floor layouts to meet planned takt time and schedule
Review engineering drawings and 3D models to understand manufacturing process requirements
Lead manufacturing improvements, process changes, and technology changes
Develop standard work instructions using Timer Pro
To thrive in this role, you have
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering
5+ years of technical experience in a manufacturing environment including assembly, welding, and coatings
Experience with 2D & 3D CAD systems, ERP systems, and manufacturing execution software
Experience in a production line environment, preferably in rail or aviation
Strong project management skills, including developing project plans, timelines, and budgets
Practical knowledge of lean principles to reduce waste
A hands‑on approach to problem‑solving and countermeasure implementation
Physical Demands
Reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. Occasionally sit.
Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 40 pounds or more
