Job Summary Salas O’Brien is looking to fill an energy engineer position to lead and support our energy and decarbonization work on a project and portfolio level.

Job Tasks Include

Identification, cost-benefit analysis, and further development of energy efficiency

Sustainability and decarbonization initiatives to meet carbon reduction goals in the built environment.

Lead decarbonization plan development through beneficial electrification and other capital upgrades/investments.

Job Tasks May Include

Evaluating energy performance and carbon reduction assessments

Conducting ASHRAE Level II & III Energy Audits

Performing retro-commissioning in commercial, institutional and multifamily buildings

Managing project teams

Developing clean energy project including scope development, energy savings calculations and cost estimating

Conducting technical energy efficiency measure savings calculations and economic analyses

Conducting building energy simulation and thermal load analysis

Presenting project results to various stakeholders including client executives

The Ideal Candidate Should

Have at least 5 years of experience in energy auditing, retro-commissioning and energy analysis

Have demonstrated experience in energy auditing, retro-commissioning and decarbonization

Be a licensed professional with a bachelor's degree in engineering

Knowledge of New York City Local Laws, including 84, 87, & 97

Have energy industry related certifications

Have experience with large commercial buildings including healthcare, higher education and K-12 schools

Have strong analytical, technical, writing and presentation skills
