Engineer Technician II Location:

GA North Area 2 - Atlanta

Reports to: Chief Engineer / Engineering Manager. Department: Engineering & Maintenance.

Job Summary The Engineer Technician II is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of hotel equipment, systems, and guest facilities. This position supports the hotel's overall maintenance and safety standards to ensure a comfortable and secure environment for guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities General Maintenance & Repairs

Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Troubleshoot and repair guest room equipment, including locks, lighting, and appliances.

Address work orders in a timely and efficient manner to ensure guest satisfaction.

Conduct routine inspections of hotel facilities to identify and resolve maintenance issues.

Building & Safety Compliance

Ensure compliance with hotel safety policies, building codes, and OSHA regulations.

Assist in maintaining fire safety systems, including alarm panels, extinguishers, and emergency exits.

Respond to emergency maintenance situations such as leaks, power failures, or equipment malfunctions.

Operational Efficiency & Teamwork

Assist in maintaining the physical appearance of the property, including painting, carpentry, and minor structural repairs.

Collaborate with other departments to support hotel operations and guest service.

Maintain an organized and well-stocked maintenance area, ensuring proper inventory of tools and supplies.

Technology & Equipment Management

Operate and maintain hotel equipment, such as elevators, refrigeration units, and water heaters.

Utilize the hotel's maintenance management system to log work orders and updates.

Stay updated on new technologies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience : 2-4 years of experience in hotel maintenance, facility maintenance, or a related technical field.

Education : High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing preferred.

Skills & Abilities

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.

Basic computer skills for managing maintenance requests and reports.

Good communication skills and a professional demeanor.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in physically demanding conditions.

Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying temperatures.

Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
