Base pay range $100,000.00/yr - $130,000.00/yr
Salary Range $100,000 – $130,000 / year DOE
Opto-Mechanical Engineer Requirements
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field
Experience designing precision, tightly tolerance mechanical assemblies for opto-mechanical systems
Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD for 3D modeling and drafting
Familiarity with Zemax or similar optical simulation tools preferred
Understanding of optical component manufacturing and metrology methods
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams, including technicians and R&D engineers
Opto-Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities
Develop and implement mechanical designs that integrate optical and mechanical components such as lenses, mirrors, and housings
Assemble, align, and test opto-mechanical systems used in high-performance laser and photonic products
Translate R&D concepts into manufacturable designs and support product transfer to production
Apply mechanical engineering principles to ensure design integrity under thermal, vibration, and stress conditions
Collaborate with process technicians and software teams to improve manufacturing processes and performance
Maintain design documentation, specifications, and tolerance analyses within SolidWorks and related tools
Support troubleshooting and continuous improvement of production systems and assemblies
