Overview
LEAD ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIST - SR. ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIST - PCB Layout Designer role at Tactical Aerospace, located in San Antonio, Texas. The position involves leading and contributing to aerospace and defense R&D programs, with a focus on complex PCB layout design for avionics systems.
Responsibilities
Work with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians on complex aerospace and defense R&D programs.
Interact with technical staff, vendors and customers; interpret project technical and management data.
Design complex printed circuit board (PCB) layouts that meet avionics standards.
Support integration, test, engineering labs, suppliers, production, supply chain, and the build of complex microprocessor-based LRUs.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
Collaborate with Systems, Electrical and Mechanical engineers to develop PCBs and interconnects for MIL-SPEC avionics flight hardware.
Work in a team environment and independently to complete tasks.
Develop PCBs and library components; perform complex PCB design.
Support orchestration of design, parts ordering / managing, build and test of LRUs.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent with continued education / certifications and 25 years of related professional experience, or a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or related field.
25 years of experience required without a Bachelor's degree; advanced working knowledge of Mentor Graphics PADS Professional and / or Xpedition.
6+ years : Degree in Engineering Technology with complex PCB design experience.
Basic understanding of configuration management and electronic development methods.
Understanding of signal integrity; IPC standards, digital, mixed signal, and high-speed PCB design; prior knowledge beneficial.
Interconnect principles for low-level and complex PCB designs, including microprocessor and RF PCBs; experience with 18+ layer boards preferred.
IPC-Certified Interconnect Design (CID) basic; CID+ preferred.
A valid / clear driver's license is required.
Special Requirements Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
