Johnstone Supply . The Accounts Receivable Manager oversees the AR function in alignment with company policies and regulations, ensuring accuracy and integrity of customer records.

Position Responsibilities

Oversee and manage the integrity of Customer Record Files, ensuring appropriate credit limits, terms, segmentation, authorized buyers, and required licenses are current.

Review and process all Credit and POD applications for assigned locations, including verification of customer information and required licenses.

Pull required credit reports from TWG credit agency partners (NACM/DNBI, Equifax) and assign the appropriate level within approved authorization.

Implement credit efforts and manage collections of assigned accounts, proactively monitoring and handling all credit and collection matters.

Manage credit override job queues, ensuring proper credit limits and following up with customers based on past‑due balances.

Conduct AR collection calls through the AR Collection queue, documenting account details and setting follow‑up dates.

Set up job accounts with NACM and complete required documentation for payment purposes.

Coordinate and support legal action related to collections, including preparing accounts for attorneys and managing write‑offs.

Follow up on NSF and credit card fraud cases, notifying customers, processing charge‑backs, and pursuing legal follow‑up as needed.

Respond to general customer calls (billing, authorized buyers, invoices, etc.) and utilize the Customer Technology Portals for billing.

Utilize the Avalara Sales Tax website to input/create customer records for all new nontaxable accounts assigned to locations.

Ensure the integrity of GL accounts, Cash Box, and A/R Payments, including cash box deposits, sweeps, and payment application of ACH and mail payments.

Research, reconcile, and follow up on non‑descript payments received through Lock Box or BillTrust auto‑post programs.

Manage BillTrust processes, encouraging customers to use the portal and handling fax/transmission failures.

Assist with Johnson Controls open invoices and with Johnstone Supply Strategic Account set‑up, payment application, EDI, or general queries.

Serve as an AR resource in the field for assigned branches and accounts.

Assist other Accounts Receivable personnel as needed, including handling account overflow or covering for peers.

Support eCommerce initiatives, maintaining the Customer Record file, setting appropriate triggers, and initiating invites for all eCommerce platforms (e.g., Innovo).

Participate in various projects and initiatives such as acquisitions, AR SOP maintenance, sales tax software, credit card processor reviews, credit agency renewals, and external collection vendor selection.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

High school diploma or GED (four years).

Proficiency in standard office software (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn mainframe accounting software (e.g., Eclipse) and Johnstone Supply technologies.

Proficient spoken and written English.

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in accounts receivable or a similar professional field, with at least three (3) years in credit and collections management preferred.

Responsible for collections on medium balance and customer accounts, approving payment plans, promissory notes, and setting credit limits for new and existing customers.

Typically handles monthly collections of $3,000,000 to $5,000,000 and manages an annual average of 500 to 750 accounts.
