Job Summary

This position coordinates leads the activities of the manufacturing engineers in direct support to the production floor. Owns assembly processes, space utilization and line layouts, defect reduction, labor standards and production and process change activities in support of assigned products. Champions continuous improvement activities in areas of quality, labor productivity, and space utilization across the production operation

Essential Functions

Management functions, resource allocation, priority setting, reviews, schedules, budget,

Develops goals and objectives for manufacturing engineering team

Champion continuous improvement in quality, equipment utilization, and labor productivity

Investigation of root cause and implementation of corrective action.

Reduction in labor content

Process improvement

Coordinate and collaborate with other managers and teams in support of business objectives and continuous improvement activities

Lead large scale and/or critical operations projects

Change order review for compliance, manufacturability and process effectiveness

Support audits and regulatory inquiries

Develop and update manufacturing policies, procedures and metrics.

Daily production support to address issues and minimize downtime

Coach and develop team members to meet their fullest potential

Capital investment analysis and long-term project activities.

Required/Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline. required Minimum of 7 years manufacturing experience in an electro-mechanical assembly/test environment. required and

Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in a technical management environment preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proven oral and written communication skills.

Ability to review and provide feedback on technical documents for applicability, appropriateness, and sound reasoning and conclusions

Experienced in problem solving and root cause investigation

Minimum Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent problem-solving expertise preferred

Experience in medical device or other regulated industry preferred

Detailed knowledge of product structure and documentation methods.

Understanding of process validation and qualification in medical device

Proficient in PC applications (MS Office, Visio)

Understanding of MES and ERP applications
