Aircraft Mechanic
Department Engineering | University Airport Repair Station
Description Provides aircraft maintenance services to university-based and transient aircraft; maintains, repairs and adjusts aircraft engines and components; maintains and repairs aircraft frames, flight controls, landing gear and flight instrument systems and related components; performs regular interval inspections of airframe and engine; calibrates supporting tools and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain, repair, and adjust aircraft engines and components.
Repair aircraft frames, flight controls, landing gear, and flight instrument systems.
Perform airframe and engine regular interval inspections.
Maintain and calibrate supporting tools and equipment.
Qualifications
Minimum – FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanic license.
Valid driver's license.
DOT safety‑sensitive position; subject to DOT random drug testing.
Desired – FAA Inspection Authorization.
Knowledge of safety practices, mechanics, operating ground equipment, operating aircraft, mechanical systems, ability to calculate fractions, decimals, and percentages, to read simple sentences, cooperate with coworkers, and exhibit dexterity.
Additional Information
Work schedule may change based on operations; shift: First Shift.
Scheduled hours: 40 per week.
Position type: Regular.
Location: Airport Maintenance (0237).
Targeted hiring range: $24.95 - $37.43 per hour.
Final candidates subject to background check; drug screen or physical may be required during post‑offer process.
