Job Summary The Automation Engineer designs and supports automated equipment and machinery used to replace manual processes, improve efficiency, and maintain compliance in manufacturing and laboratory environments. This hands‑on role ensures the integrity, reliability, security, and compliance of automation and OT systems across the site, including production, utilities, quality control, and labs.
Key Responsibilities Automation Design & Implementation
Design and implement automated equipment and machinery to optimize production processes.
Define and evaluate areas where automation can increase efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
Develop and execute automated testing protocols to validate system integrity and performance.
Support CAPEX and OPEX projects related to automation and OT infrastructure.
Operational Technology (OT) Systems Support
Provide technical, hands‑on support for OT systems, ensuring availability, reliability, and compliance.
Manage and maintain a variety of critical systems including:
Building Automation Systems (BAS)
Process Control Systems (PCS)
Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES/EBR)
Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
Participate in full system lifecycle management from design and implementation through validation and maintenance.
Compliance, Documentation & Cybersecurity
Ensure system designs and operations comply with regulatory standards including GMP, 21 CFR Part 11, and Annex 11.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including manuals for automated processes and updates to existing systems.
Support initiatives related to data integrity and cybersecurity across OT environments.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in collaboration with cross‑functional teams to maintain operational continuity.
Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in automation, control systems, or OT engineering within a regulated environment.
Strong understanding of automated testing, system integration, and industrial automation platforms.
Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards (GMP, 21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11).
Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.
