Hybrid position; must work on-site 3 days per week. Office location options include: Albany, NY; Buffalo, NY; or Meriden, CT.
Position Overview An established engineering and design firm is seeking a
Civil Engineer
to join its Renewable Energy Services group. The ideal candidate will support civil/site design across renewable energy projects including
solar farms, battery energy storage systems, and wind projects , primarily on the private development side.
The firm has completed over 80 renewable energy projects since 2020, totaling
350 MW ,
400,000 solar modules , and
1,500 acres
of developed land. They consistently win an average of three new proposals per month.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct site visits and feasibility studies for potential project locations
Prepare preliminary site layouts
Develop comprehensive solar energy designs including site plans, structural drawings, and engineering calculations
Produce construction documents used for permitting and construction
Support local and state permitting application processes
Interface with project stakeholders including clients, engineers, contractors, and municipalities
Manage design and implementation tasks to meet scope, schedule, and quality expectations
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required)
Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience (preferred)
EIT or PE certification (preferred)
Proficiency in
AutoCAD Civil 3D
(required)
Strong background in
site development , including grading, stormwater management, and civil engineering design
Familiarity with
SEQR , DEC stormwater permitting, and municipal code review
Effective communication and teamwork skills
