About Us
Cairn Landscape Architects is a landscape architecture firm founded in 2020 on the idea that collaborative, multidisciplinary, and inclusive design processes inspire creative solutions. Based in Jackson, WY, we specialise in residential landscapes, resort and multi‑family projects, park design, planning, and sustainable design across the Mountain West. Our passion lies in enhancing every site’s connection to its natural environment.
Position Summary We are seeking an entry‑level Landscape Designer with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture and 0–3 years of experience. The ideal candidate is a self‑starter who can work independently and manage multiple aspects of the design process—from concept sketching to construction documents and site visits. Attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a good sense of humour are essential. This position is primarily focused on production work with some coordination responsibilities, including communication with other consultants.
Responsibilities
Assist Project Managers and Coordinators in developing design concepts and participate in design discussions.
Produce 2D and 3D digital graphics and presentations with a strong aesthetic sense.
Prepare production documents, including permit and construction sets, under guidance of senior staff.
Contribute design input and potential solutions during the design process.
Attend client meetings, presentations, and site visits.

Required Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD (LandFX a plus), SketchUp (Lumion a plus), Adobe Suite, hand drawing and rendering skills, and construction knowledge.
Basic knowledge of grading, construction documents, permitting, and planting is required.
Ability to lift 50 lbs or more and spend extended periods outdoors on construction sites.
Location This position is based within a commutable distance to our Jackson, WY office. Hybrid arrangements may be available for qualified employees after the initial employment period.
