Electrical Engineering Manager – PCBA/Test
6 month Contract/Temporary Opportunity
We’re seeking a Staff/Manager level Electrical Engineer Consultant with strong experience in electrical testing, circuit board validation, and manufacturing support for regulated medical or high-reliability products. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives at the intersection of design verification, test development, and process optimization — ensuring every product meets the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.
You’ll work cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to develop and validate test systems, drive root-cause investigations, and lead process improvements across prototype and production stages.
Base pay range
$90.00/hr - $105.00/hr
What You’ll Do
Lead
electrical and PCBA testing
across prototype and production builds to ensure compliance with design and regulatory requirements.
Develop and maintain
test fixtures, automated test systems, and validation protocols
for efficient, traceable testing.
Conduct
root cause analysis
for test failures, process deviations, and field issues, implementing robust corrective actions.
Partner with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure smooth
design transfer
and scalable production processes.
Support
process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ)
and
test method validation (TMV)
activities for new and existing test systems.
Collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers to resolve electrical and process issues impacting yield and reliability.
Drive
continuous improvement
initiatives in automation, data acquisition, and test efficiency.
Ensure all testing and manufacturing activities meet
FDA, ISO 13485, and IEC 60601
standards.
Mentor junior engineers and technicians, promoting strong engineering discipline and quality culture.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in
Electrical Engineering
or related field (Master’s preferred).
8-10+ years of experience
in electrical testing, manufacturing engineering, or product validation within
medical devices, wearables, or regulated hardware industries .
Expertise in
PCB testing, troubleshooting, and test system design .
Proven experience with
TMV and manufacturing process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) .
Knowledge of
CAPA, nonconformance, FMEA, and quality system processes .
Proficiency with
LabVIEW, Python, or automated test frameworks
a plus.
Strong communication, analytical, and documentation skills.
