Position Overview
Join AZAD as an Electrical Engineer and support both the Facilities Engineering group and the Telecommunications group in the Transmission Services business line. This engineer will conduct system analysis, design, review, and check electrical designs done by internal engineers or external Architecture & Engineering design firms for electrical systems substations and telecommunications sites. The position coordinates and facilitates all building electrical work, including lighting, circuits, panels, wiring, HVAC, fire alarm systems, security systems, communication systems, emergency power systems, engine generators, and electrical gates.
This is a 2‑year plus consultant position with high probability of long‑term employment. The role is full‑time on‑site or hybrid in Vancouver, WA with onsite 1‑2 days per week. The hourly pay rate range for this position (which includes a health and welfare fringe benefit of $4.93) is $30.69 – $51.36 depending on related qualifications and experience, as well as composition of the selected compensation package.
Responsibilities • Conduct system analysis, design, review, and check of electrical designs for substations and telecommunications sites. • Coordinate and facilitate building electrical installations, including lighting, wiring, HVAC, fire alarm, security, communication, emergency power, and engine generators. • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (NESC, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, ANSI). • Provide technical leadership in the design of electrical systems.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited school.
5 years of work‑related experience and knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and practices.
5 years of experience with design and engineering of low and medium voltage systems in compliance with various codes.
5 years of experience with power systems, power distribution, and utilization, including transformers, panelboards, standby engine‑generators, motors, lighting systems, fire alarm systems, cabling, and grounding.
Knowledge of professional engineering theory and techniques sufficient to provide technical leadership in the design of electrical systems.
Understanding of Electrical Safety Standards, safety regulations, and code requirements (NESC).
Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other industry standards such as NFPA, IEEE, and ANSI.
Valid professional engineering license (noted as "Valid 's License is required").
First Aid / AED / CPR certification required within 30 days of assignment start.
Substation Entry Permit (SEP) required within one year of assignment start.
Must be able to pass a federal criminal background and drug screening.
