Job Description The structural engineer will oversee the creation of 3D models and detailed drawings in Risa 3D based on customer‑provided designs. Occasionally, they will work in Solidworks to coordinate and oversee technical drawings with the MDE on their team. The typical products include steel platforms, stairs, towers, foundations, skids, tanks, and drag chains within the Telecommunications, Transportation, Wastewater, and Oil & Gas sectors.

Responsibilities

Oversee the creation of 3D models and detailed drawings using Risa 3D.

Coordinate and oversee technical drawings in Solidworks with the MDE team.

Ensure designs meet industry standards such as ANSI, EIA/TIA, and ASSHTO.

Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams to ensure project alignment.

Coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, project teams, and vendors.

Develop and monitor detailed project scopes and schedules.

Prepare engineering requirements and foundational design data.

Oversee scheduling of engineering activities, including the issuance of drawings and specifications.

Manage a design team of four, ensuring alignment with project goals and quality standards.

Essential Skills

At least four years of experience as a structural engineer.

Proficiency in RISA 3D, FEA, and hand calculations.

Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering.

Advanced knowledge of engineering technologies, codes, and standards.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with Solidworks is a plus.

Familiarity with engineering tools such as tnxTower, Helicap, Lpile, and Mathcad.

Proven ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams.

Work Environment The candidate will work in an office environment alongside a Senior Structural Engineer and a team of four other engineers, providing mentorship opportunities. All personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided. The schedule is flexible with core hours from 9 AM to 3 PM.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.

Pay And Benefits Pay Range: $42.00 – $48.00 per hour.
