Continuous Improvement Engineering Co-op (Spring & Summer 2026)
SPXFLOW is seeking a college co‑op student to join our Mixing Industry Continuous Improvement Team. The student will help reduce error and waste and improve material flow using tools such as SAP, A3 Problem Solving, Lean methodologies, MS Office, and AutoCAD. The co‑op will complete 1–2 A3 projects and several focus improvements. Pay is $24.00 per hour and the term is Spring 2026. Principal Duties And Responsibilities
Analyze existing production processes, identify work elements, time them, and optimize balance; focus on assembly line flow, workstation design, ergonomics, and material flows. Develop and design tooling, fixtures, and simple equipment for new and existing products and processes. Apply continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing techniques to production areas. Facilitate visual management in a production environment. Evaluate capital equipment investments, prepare cost justifications, design concept drawings, write specifications, and manage overall implementation. Identify and implement solutions for safety, quality, productivity, cost, and delivery issues. Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods, validating manufacturing processes, and determining root cause using statistical methods (e.g., design of experiment, SPC). Prepare documentation for new and existing processes and engineering procedures; develop manufacturing instructions, procedures, and standard work. Education And Experience
Working toward a BS degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field; preferred. Experience with Pro‑E / Creo, AutoCad, and / or MasterCam is preferred. Writing specifications for complex equipment and working with vendors. Ability to write work instructions and related documentation. DFM preferred. Basic working knowledge of controls.
