An Investment Management Firm based in New York City is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as a Valuations Analyst.
Responsibilities
Support the onboarding of newly originated investments in close collaboration with underwriting teams.
Conduct monthly valuations of illiquid securities and periodically present findings to the valuation committee.
Perform independent internal valuation analyses, incorporating financial statements, deal structures, market data, and other relevant investment factors.
Develop and maintain financial models to monitor issuer performance.
Assist in the preparation of quarterly portfolio review materials and occasionally present insights to portfolio managers.
Serve as a liaison across internal teams—including investment, investor relations, business development, technology, and portfolio analytics—as well as external stakeholders such as third-party valuation firms and auditors.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
1–3 years of experience in financial consulting, investment banking, asset management, a top-tier public accounting firm, third-party valuation provider, or credit rating agency.
Solid understanding of debt instruments.
Hands‑on experience in debt or equity valuation, three‑statement financial modeling, and financial analysis.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel; strong modeling and analytical skills.
Familiarity with Capital IQ or FactSet is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to succeed in a collaborative, fast‑paced, and high‑pressure environment.
