The Accounting Manager will oversee daily accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities include managing the accounting team, leading month‑end close, and supporting strategic financial initiatives.

Responsibilities

Supervise the accounting team and assist with team member development.

Manage daily accounting functions, processes, and procedures to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

Maintain and reconcile the general ledger across multiple contracts, cost centers, and indirect pools.

Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements in compliance with GAAP and company policies.

Support and execute month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes, including accruals, allocations, and variance analyses.

Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Support payroll and timesheet processes; ensure labor distribution accuracy and proper cost allocations.

Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, providing documentation, and ensuring compliance with all federal and company regulations.

Recommend and help implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency in accounting operations.

Assist with the development of policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and company policies.

Maintain integrity and confidentiality of financial data and ensure adherence to internal controls and best accounting practices.

Ensure compliance with government contracting standards, including FAR, CAS, and DCAA audit requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications & Education Requirements and Desired Skillsets

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

Minimum 5‑8 years of progressive accounting experience in a government contracting environment, including direct supervisory experience.

Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint and advanced Microsoft Excel.

Strong understanding of the government contracting industry, accounting principles, GAAP, FAR, and DCAA compliance.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with keen attention to detail.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Sound judgment, integrity, and professionalism in handling confidential information.

Continuous improvement mindset and proactive approach to financial management.

U.S. Citizenship required.

Physical Description Employees will work in a general office/cubicle environment using standard office equipment. Occasional travel and occasional telework may be required.
