What You’ll Do
Develop, match, and improve products by applying food science, culinary skills, and product chemistry.
Conduct sensory evaluations, document data, and interpret results to enhance flavor, texture, and overall product quality.
Ensure ingredient statements, nutrition facts, and formulations meet FDA and organizational standards.
Guide recipe setup for production scale‑up, approve or reject test batches, and troubleshoot formulations.
Research new ingredients, technologies, and processes to drive innovation, efficiency, and cost savings.
Collaborate across teams and with suppliers to meet project timelines and customer expectations.
What You’ll Bring Food Scientist I
Bachelor’s in Food Science with 0‑3 years experience OR Associate’s in Science with 4‑6 years experience.
Preferred: Certified Food Scientist (IFT) or Certified Culinary Scientist/Research Chef (RCA).
Hands‑on lab/food industry experience with product development, emulsion science, and product chemistry.
Familiarity with FDA compliance, ingredient statements, and nutritional fact panels.
Ability to participate in sensory evaluations, analyze results, and apply findings to improve products.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross‑functionally and externally with suppliers.
Competence with MS 365 and familiarity with ERP/PLM or regulatory software.
Food Scientist II
Bachelor’s in Food Science with 4‑6 years experience OR Associate’s in Science with 7‑9 years experience.
Preferred:
Certified Food Scientist (CFS), Institute of Food Technologists (IFT)
Certified Culinary Scientist (CCS) or Certified Research Chef (CRC), Research Chefs Association (RCA)
Proven track record developing new food products, applying scientific and culinary expertise to improve flavor, texture, and quality
Hands‑on lab or food industry experience, including equipment troubleshooting and product analysis
Strong knowledge of food chemistry, emulsion science, texture, and microbiology
Experience with FDA compliance, ingredient statements, and nutrition labeling
Skilled in sensory evaluation, production trials, and interpreting data to drive product improvements
Proficient in MS 365 (Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint) and ERP/PLM systems
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and with suppliers
Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
