We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to take ownership of our IT infrastructure portfolio, ensuring the secure, reliable, and efficient operation of our on‑premises, virtual, and cloud environments. This hands‑on role will manage critical systems across Windows, Linux, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365, while also contributing to long‑term planning, policy development, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
Base pay range $120,000.00/yr – $145,000.00/yr
Location: New Castle, DE
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Operations
Administer and support servers, appliances, hypervisors, storage, and related infrastructure.
Manage Windows and Linux operating systems, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and authentication services.
Oversee enterprise Microsoft 365 services, including Intune, Autopilot, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams.
Maintain virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V, Citrix, Nutanix, KVM) and cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS).
Implement and manage backup, recovery, and monitoring solutions to ensure high availability and resiliency.
Deploy, monitor, and patch infrastructure systems to maintain security, performance, and compliance.
Provide on‑call 24/7 support for production systems as needed.
Contribute to the development and execution of the IT infrastructure roadmap.
Propose and deliver projects aligned with organizational goals, ensuring timely and cost‑effective completion.
Participate in annual budget planning, capital expenditure requests, and vendor negotiations.
Draft technical documentation, standards, and best practices to support consistency and scalability.
Compliance & Security
Ensure adherence to company policies, licensing, regulatory obligations, and industry best practices.
Collaborate with Audit and Cybersecurity teams to remediate vulnerabilities and strengthen controls.
Maintain and periodically test disaster recovery and business continuity procedures.
Monitor risk exposure, address compliance issues, and document corrective actions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of progressive system administration experience.
3+ years administering enterprise virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere/ESXi, Hyper‑V, Citrix, Nutanix, or KVM).
Proven expertise with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and GPO management.
Hands‑on experience with Microsoft 365 (Intune, Autopilot, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online).
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure and/or AWS.
Strong troubleshooting, monitoring, and automation capabilities (e.g., PowerShell, scripting).
Experience working in compliance‑driven environments with complex infrastructure.
