Location: Hot Springs, AR Pay Range: $30.10 - $44.77 /hour Employment type: Contract Job function: Health Care Provider Industries: Wellness and Fitness Services, Hospitals and Health Care, and Medical Practices Summary: As a Sonographer, you will perform sonographic procedures, explain procedures to patients, and present findings to Physicians while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Where you’ll work As our Sonographer at CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs, you will work directly with patients and use sonographic equipment to record images of the motion, shape, and composition of blood, organs, tissues, and bodily masses as well as looking at unborn fetuses in prenatal care. To be successful, you should have excellent patient service and communication skills, good eyesight and attention to detail, strong technical skills, and sound judgment. Responsibilities Explain sonographic procedures to patients, answer questions, apply gel to the skin, and position patients on the table. Ensure clear images for diagnostic purposes and adjust the sonographic equipment as needed. Select appropriate settings and adjust patient positions accordingly. Monitor and care for patients to ensure safety and comfort during procedures. Examine images, identify differences between healthy and pathological areas, and determine if the scope of the exam should be extended based on preliminary findings. Present sonograms and preliminary findings to the physicians. Qualifications Graduate of a program of Radiologic Technology accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or an approved Sonography/Vascular Ultrasound program.
