Job Description Takeda Development Center Americas, Inc. is seeking an Associate Scientist with experience in research and laboratory methods. The role involves design and development of research assignments, application of analytical techniques, data presentation, project coordination, and technical troubleshooting.
Provide hands‑on laboratory experience to design and develop research assignments for specific project(s).
Utilize a wide variety of analytical techniques (e.g., HPLC, CE, SDS‑PAGE) to analyze samples and present data in a timely manner as scientific presentations or reports.
Understand project timelines and plan/coordinate project work with departmental, functional, and external stakeholders.
Contribute independently to project work, which may include multiple projects within the functional area.
Generate, analyze, and interpret/communicate data; plan and implement resolutions to technical issues and instrument troubleshooting when needed.
Serve as a technical resource for junior staff and leverage expertise in laboratory technology as a functional resource/trainer.
Independently design and execute experiments, report results, and build and maintain relationships with vendors, assisting with technical aspects of vendor negotiations.
Travel up to 5% domestic and international as required.
Requirements
Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering, or related pharmaceutical science field plus 3 years of related experience; OR Bachelor’s degree in the same fields plus 5 years of related experience.
Prior experience in conducting molecular cloning, expression, and purification of recombinant proteins and antibodies for drug discovery.
Developed protocols for production, purification, and characterization of catalytic antibodies.
Experience in analyzing preclinical study data to evaluate efficacy and safety of therapeutic antibodies.
Proficiency in protein engineering techniques to enhance binding affinity and specificity.
Provided hands‑on laboratory support, analytical method development, and validation for biologics manufacturing.
Strong data analysis, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
