Role and Responsibilities Responsible for developing and managing the commercial and industrial loan relationships; achieving customer service goals as established in the Commercial Services Department's annual operating plan.
Essential Duties
Develop and manage the commercial and industrial loan relationships which are typically the largest and most complex by performing the following:
Jointly establish quantitative sales objectives, with assigned supervisor, on an annual basis; this activity to be integrated with the Commercial Services Department's annual marketing/sales plan.
Solicit new business from present and prospective customers; interview applicants; maintain ongoing business relationships with present customers in order to take advantage of additional cross‑selling opportunities.
Provide sales information on a timely basis in order that this information may be included as part of customer service and sales performance reports.
Monitor individual sales performance versus objectives on a regular basis; discuss performance with appropriate supervisor on a frequent basis.
Serve as a member of the bank's sales team, e.g., Sales Managers; make group sales calls where these types of calls will improve the opportunity for new business development.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all bank commercial products and services in order to ascertain customer needs and to sell in conjunction with these needs.
Collect and analyze financial, credit, and related information; provide direct service to commercial customers of the bank with respect to deposit, loan, and other miscellaneous products and services; approve or reject loan applications within individual lending authority; negotiate provisions and structures of loans.
Make presentations to appropriate loan committee.
Assist customers in obtaining specialized services from other bank departments as necessary; provide help to customers with specific inquiries or service problems including loan policy.
Maintain a working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures which impact commercial services.
Prepare and maintain accurate records of all customer service calls made and meetings held with present and prospective customers.
Monitor loan repayment activities.
Jointly establish annual quantitative customer service and sales objectives with assigned supervisor; this activity to be integrated with the Commercial Services Department's annual operating plan.
Abide by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of sexual harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
Cooperate with, participate in, and support the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management, overall safety and soundness, and the bank’s compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.
Coordinate departmental tasks with coworkers inside and outside the department in order to ensure an efficient process and the completion of essential tasks needing proper segregation of duties.
Report pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; comply with information as necessary or as directed and provide data to appropriate bank personnel.
Respond to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from other bank personnel, customers, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
Maintain appropriate records and provide assigned reports.
Actively participate in community activities in a manner which reflects favorably on the bank.
Ancillary Duties
May attend sales and trade meetings as a bank representative to develop new business and to gain information and leads on new business relationships.
Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re‑designed depending on individual or departmental circumstances.
Physical Requirements
Occasionally ascend/descend stairs to move through the different floors of the location.
Occasionally position self to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
Occasionally remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to accomplish tasks.
Must be able to assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
Occasionally exposed to outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.
Occasionally has to work around noisy environments.
Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
