Georgia-Pacific is seeking qualified professionals to consider for an Engineering Manager role supporting the Consumer Manufacturing Group located in Muskogee, OK. The Muskogee facility uses integrated technology to manufacture tissue, towel, and napkin products in a progressive production environment.
What You Will Do
Embrace influential leadership to support the organization while advancing our Principle-Based Management (PBM) culture.
Lead, mentor, and develop an engineering team focused on mechanical, electrical, and process engineering disciplines.
Foster a culture of safety, accountability, continuous learning, and collaboration.
Manage and prioritize capital projects, maintenance improvements, and plant expansions to support production goals.
Ensure projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and meet quality standards.
Oversee plant equipment maintenance strategies to maximize uptime and reliability.
Implement predictive and preventative maintenance programs to reduce unplanned downtime.
Drive initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes, improve energy efficiency, and reduce costs.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective action plans for equipment failures or process inefficiencies.
Champion compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company safety and environmental policies.
Lead engineering participation in plant safety programs and audits.
Develop and manage annual engineering budgets including labor, materials, and capital expenditures.
Optimize resource allocation to support operational and project priorities.
Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to align engineering efforts with plant objectives.
Communicate engineering plans, progress, and challenges to plant leadership and stakeholders.
Evaluate and implement new technologies, automation, and digital tools to enhance plant performance.
Ensure engineering documentation, standards, and procedures are current and followed.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Minimum of 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role managing engineering teams.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive engineering experience in manufacturing or process industries.
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
Strong project management and organizational skills with an emphasis on safety, quality, and cost control.
Demonstrated experience in driving change and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
What Will Put You Ahead
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, or related field).
Strong knowledge of industrial equipment, process systems, and manufacturing operations relevant to pulp and paper or related industries.
Proficiency with maintenance management systems (CMMS), CAD software, and project management tools.
Experience with reliability engineering, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
