NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution is responsible for the licensing and distribution of NBCUniversal product to all forms of television and new media platforms in the U.S., Canada and in over 200 territories internationally. NBCUniversal’s content portfolio includes a vast and diverse library of more than 6,500 feature films and 170,000 television episodes, including current and classic titles, non-scripted programming, kids, sports, news, long-form and short-form programming from Universal Pictures, Focus Features, Universal Television, UCP, Universal International Studios, Sky Studios, NBC Late Night properties, DreamWorks Animation, Telemundo, and more, as well as locally produced content from around the world. Overview The Research Analyst will focus on providing research support to NBCU’s content distribution teams in the U.S., London and Latin America, on both a pan-regional and country-specific basis. In this role you will be responsible for compiling, organizing, visualizing, analyzing, and presenting cross-platform viewing data in various research projects including standard landscape and performance reports, ad hoc client requests, and long-term strategy evaluations. This position reports to the VP of Audience Insights & Analytics in Universal City.
Responsibilities
Provide market, brand, platform and program analyses and insights based on linear TV and digital audience metrics
Produce regular reports monitoring NBCU and competitive content performance, including written insights derived from the data
Create client-facing highlights for territory specific and global teams, illuminating the success of NBCU series
Build and maintain detailed and accurate historical databases of first-party client data
Ensure data quality and integrity through cleaning, filtering, and system setup for efficient insight generation
Provide support for major annual conferences/events such as LA Screenings and Content Americas
Master multiple ratings/streaming measurement software products
Maintain and help develop systems for storing key departmental data and analyses

Qualifications Basic Requirements
Bachelor's degree
Background in media research
Proficient in Power Query, SQL, Snowflake, and Microsoft Office 365 (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
Experience with media measurement tools (e.g. Nielsen, Digital-i, ITVR, Tech Edge, Instar) and business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
Skilled in analyzing and using 1st and 3rd party datasets
Desired Characteristics
Ability to work autonomously to tight deadlines and multiple competing priorities
Ability to collaborate across divisions and build strong working relationships
Knowledge and understanding of the television industry relevant to broadcast, cable and digital platforms, including research terminology and methodology
Excellent numeracy and analytical skills, with the ability to craft out insightful and visually compelling reporting
Knowledge and understanding of the U.S. and/or Latin America media landscape and industry relevant to broadcast, cable, and digital platforms
Outstanding problem solving and investigative skills to answer questions and supplement analyses when only limited data and information are readily available
Experience cleaning and streamlining inconsistent datasets
