Senior Reliability Engineer

About the role
Reporting to the Manager of Reliability Engineering, this position plays a key role in enhancing the reliability, design, and development of IG manufacturing and support equipment. The Reliability Engineer will act as a central liaison across operations, maintenance, manufacturing, automation, quality assurance, validation, and utilities engineering—driving cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement in equipment performance and system reliability. How you will contribute
Develop maintenance strategies, plans, SOPs, parts lists, BOMs, and frequency schedules for new and modified equipment. Collaborate with safety, quality, and manufacturing teams to perform equipment importance level assessments. Review, improve, and update maintenance SOPs, parts lists, BOMs, and ensure CMMS data integrity for existing equipment. Analyze CMMS data to identify trends and prioritize areas for improvement. Conduct functional equivalency assessments for spare parts. Support or lead equipment troubleshooting efforts in collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and maintenance teams. Lead and facilitate Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). Drive Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) improvement initiatives within assigned areas. Serve as the Reliability Engineering subject matter expert (SME) during audits. Lead the implementation of predictive maintenance technologies to enhance equipment uptime. Participate in technical reviews for equipment design projects. Contribute to Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and commissioning of new or modified equipment as needed. Identify and lead cost, waste, and energy reduction opportunities. Manage assigned tasks related to change control, Quality CAPAs, and Safety CAPAs. Report project and operational metrics to upper management. Perform other duties as assigned. What you bring to Takeda
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline required, with 3-5 years of relevant experience Minimum of 2 years of experience in a reliability engineering role Familiarity with GMP environments is a plus Strong ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Project Solid understanding of core engineering principles, including heat transfer, mass transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics Experience working in a collaborative, team-based environment Familiarity with biotechnology manufacturing operations such as cell culture, purification, aseptic filling, packaging, and supporting systems (CIP, SIP, HVAC, plant and clean utilities) Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical and project-related issues Proven ability to work cross-functionally and contribute as a collaborative team member What Takeda can offer you

In this role, you may: Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas. Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment. Work in a cold, wet environment. Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.
