About the Role This position is for a

Clinical Molecular Technologist

responsible for performing high-complexity molecular testing, including next-generation sequencing (NGS) assays, within a CLIA-certified laboratory. The role involves working with cutting-edge genomic technologies to support precision oncology and molecular diagnostics. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with NGS methods such as WGS, RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, WES, and targeted sequencing, along with strong technical and analytical skills. This is an on-site position located in Orlando, FL, offering opportunities to contribute to innovative molecular diagnostics and translational research.

Responsibilities

Perform high-complexity laboratory testing on patient specimens using molecular biology protocols and next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies.

Extract and purify nucleic acids from various sample types, including tissue, blood, and bone marrow, following established SOPs.

Construct DNA libraries and execute NGS workflows such as whole genome, RNA, ChIP, exome, and targeted sequencing.

Maintain and document compliance with CLIA, CAP, and state regulatory standards.

Accession samples and manage workflows through Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).

Monitor data quality, identify trends or deviations, and implement corrective measures as needed.

Support assay validation, research, and continuous process improvement projects.

Assist in training junior technologists and developing updated technical documentation.

Manage lab inventory and coordinate with supply chain teams to maintain necessary materials.

Adhere to laboratory safety and environmental health standards, including the proper use of PPE.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in chemical, biological, physical, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology.

Possession of an MB (ASCP) certification.

Possession of, or eligibility to obtain, Florida certification to work as a medical technologist in a molecular diagnostics laboratory.

At least 1 year of relevant experience in a clinical molecular or genomics laboratory.

Proven hands-on experience performing NGS assays, including WGS, RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, WES, or targeted sequencing.

Strong knowledge of CLIA, CAP, and state regulatory requirements.

Excellent analytical, documentation, and troubleshooting skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and LIMS systems.

Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Desired Qualifications

Experience in oncology testing or molecular diagnostics.

Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and NGS data analysis workflows.

Demonstrated ability to optimize workflows and ensure consistent assay performance.

Strong organizational and communication skills with a collaborative team approach.

Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including weekends or holidays, as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range:

$60,000 $110,000 , depending on experience and expertise.

Benefits include:

relocation bonus (if applicable), reimbursement for license fees and continuing education, 401(k) plan (no current employer match), and comprehensive health and dental insurance largely covered by the employer depending on plan selection.

Hiring Process

Initial screening with the hiring coordinator.

Followed by either in-person or video team interviews (approximately 1.52 hours).

Final decision after team interviews with 3 to4 team members.
