Overview
SFH Rehab Services – Full Time – 86040BR This is an inpatient position within Saint Francis/St Mary’s Hospitals Rehabilitation Services department. The Staff Occupational Therapist (OT 2) reports to the Clinical Supervisor and provides both direct and indirect patient care services. The role primarily serves adult and geriatric patients from diverse backgrounds; candidates with pediatric competencies and clinical experience may also work with infants, children, and/or adolescents as needed. Under general direction and upon receipt of licensed approved provider referrals, the Staff Occupational Therapist plans and administers a full range of occupational therapy services for patients with physical and cognitive impairments and functional limitations. Services include patient evaluations using various tests and measurements, establishment of therapeutic goals, development of intervention programs, and implementation of intervention plans using occupational therapy techniques. The OT demonstrates competence in managing patients of varying clinical acuity and complexity. Mentoring may be sought for novel presentations or areas outside existing expertise. The OT maintains patient records, stays organized, and demonstrates effective time management. Supervisory responsibilities may include Occupational Therapy Students, Doctoral Fellows, and Rehabilitation Aides. The OT participates in regular professional and clinical development activities (40+ hours/year) and may lead compliance, quality, safety, and process improvement initiatives within the department, local care setting, and organization. MS or MA degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program. Minimum one year of licensed practice experience. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Ability to recognize signs of distress. Basic computer skills including work within Epic electronic medical record. Good interpersonal, time management, problem-solving, and self-initiation skills. Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations. Preferred Qualifications
Doctorate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program. Prior experience providing patient care in acute care hospital and acute rehab/IRF settings. Prior experience working on an interdisciplinary health provider team. License/Certification
Possession of or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist by the California Occupational Therapy Board. AHA BLS certification or eligibility. About UCSF
