As a Risk Manager in Retail Deposit Oversight, you will lead a team of Risk Managers in assessing risks within our Consumer and Business deposit portfolios. You will be engaged in ongoing change initiatives as well as emerging issues facing the business.
Job Responsibilities
Develop a deep understanding of deposit product features, functionality and related services
Lead a small team directly and other risk teammates indirectly to deliver risk assessments and credible challenge
Meet regularly with partners in product development to understand both their long‑term plans and short‑term activities and is a trusted advisor to the line of business while maintaining independence
Look for strategic, operational, reputational risk in emerging products and services
Evaluate new concepts or modifications to existing services to ensure that the business has identified all the risks and has included appropriate controls
Apply applicable bank policy and external regulation to elevate issues appropriately to Compliance and Legal partners
Reliably represent the interests of other internal stakeholders in risk management
Stays abreast of changes in the marketplace including technology, products, threats
Deconstruct and explains complex concepts and issues in a business‑friendly manner to senior/executive management
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Minimum of a bachelor degree
Minimum five years' experience in a financial institution
Experience with digital/mobile banking, payments, and/or other emerging technologies
Familiarity with agile development methodology
Critical thinking skills
Ability to defend positions with quantitative analysis developed with an analytical team
Ability to work effectively with both business and technically oriented individuals
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong emotional intelligence and ability to influence
Ability to work independently while managing multiple deadlines and priorities
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Familiarity with process engineering and root cause analysis
Data analysis experience
