The Executive Director of the Open Door Counseling & Community Center provides leadership and oversight for the operation of the Center (including its launch), ensures the delivery of quality mental health services, supervises staff and training, manages resources, implements programs that support mental well‐being, and schedules community classes. Additionally, the Director will directly counsel clients as part of the position.

The Executive Director (with support of the Board of Directors) is to be an advocate and champion of the Center toward the community and will ensure that the vision, mission and biblical values of Church of the Open Door and the Center are upheld in all activities.

Work Schedule:

40-45hrs/week. Monday-Friday

Full‑time salary position with benefits (Exempt & Ministerial)

Executive Pastor

Core Responsibilities

Staff Supervision: Supervise, mentor, and evaluate counseling staff, including therapists, care coordinators, and support/administrative personnel. Provide crisis intervention and emergency response for counselors and staff.

Clinical Guidance: Oversee and provide guidance on clinical practices to ensure high‑quality, evidence‑based services.

Program Development: Develop, implement, and evaluate new counseling and community programs, such as outreach initiatives & training workshops.

Staff and Volunteer Recruitment: Recruit, train, disciple, and manage staff and volunteers.

Environment and Culture: Create a welcoming environment and foster a healthy staff culture. Ensure that each staff member and volunteer furthers the religious mission of the Center.

Community Classes: Recruit church members and volunteers to offer community classes and ensure their promotion and execution.

Education: Offer continual education workshops for staff members as well as church members and volunteers.

Client Counseling: Counsel clients in person and/or virtually.

Community Liaison: Serve as the liaison between the Center and community organizations or foundations.

Prayer: Pray regularly for the Center’s clients and staff.

Collaboration: Actively partner with other Open Door ministries, staff and campuses.

Budget Management: Manage the Center's budget, oversee expenditures and revenues, and set annual goals.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with ethical standards, regulations, and policies set by the Board.

Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data related to the Center’s services to evaluate effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

Documentation: Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all sessions and services using an electronic medical records system.

Communication: Communicate regularly with the Executive Pastor and Board of Directors about developments, issues, events, and ministry opportunities.

Qualifications

Be a mature, growing believer with a clear understanding of the Gospel, along with the ability to communicate it clearly.

Demonstrate a strong passion for community and mental health services.

Hold a LPCC‑S (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervision Designation) or an MSW, LISW‑S (Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervisory Credentials).

5+ years of experience in counseling or community services with proven leadership abilities.

Be committed to spiritual integrity and professional excellence.

Exhibit leadership that naturally attracts others to serve.

Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
