Firmware Engineer
to join the FPGA Development team and play a key role in designing next-generation secure hardware systems.
Responsibilities
Develop FPGA firmware using VHDL, verify designs using simulation tools, and conduct validation tests in the lab.
Drive end-to-end development of large-scale VHDL FPGA logic—from requirements through design, coding, and integration to production release.
Collaborate in developing logic design architectures and firmware requirement specifications.
Execute all phases of firmware development: requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and testing.
Participate in internal and customer-facing design review meetings.
Work closely with hardware engineers to support pinout planning and schematic development.
Perform in-system testing, debugging, and validation using advanced lab equipment.
Firmware Engineer Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
3+ years of hands‑on firmware development experience in the defense or aerospace sector.
Proficiency in FPGA development using VHDL and tools like Vivado, ModelSim, Libero, Vitis, and MATLAB.
Familiarity with Xilinx and Microsemi FPGA platforms.
Solid understanding of serial communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, PCIe, Ethernet, and T1.
Strong lab testing experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power meters.
Excellent analytical thinking, debugging skills, and attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable presenting to teams and external customers.
Self‑starter with a collaborative mindset and ability to thrive in fast‑paced, technical environments.
