Overview
Walkup, Melodia, Kelly & Schoenberger is a San Francisco-based personal injury firm handling complex cases since 1959. We seek a highly motivated Intake Attorney/PI Paralegal (licensed in California) to join our team. This role is the first point of contact for potential clients, assessing case viability and providing initial legal guidance, while ensuring excellent client service from the moment contact is made. Key Responsibilities
Initial Case Screening:
Conduct thorough intake interviews with potential clients to gather critical case information, assess legal issues, and determine whether the case meets the firm\'s criteria for representation. Legal Evaluation:
Analyze case details, determine legal viability, and provide potential clients with initial insights into the strength of their claim. Client Communication:
Act as the first point of contact for potential clients, answering questions and addressing concerns with empathy and professionalism. Case Management:
Manage the intake process from initial contact through case acceptance, including scheduling consultations, sending required documentation, and ensuring follow-ups. Collaboration:
Work closely with attorneys and staff to ensure seamless transition from intake to case handling, including briefing attorneys on potential cases. Data Management:
Maintain organized and detailed records of all intake activities, ensuring that case information is properly documented in the firm\'s case management system. Client Relations:
Build and maintain relationships with prospective clients, providing excellent customer service to ensure a positive experience. Qualifications
Licensed Attorney in California:
Must be an active member in good standing with the California Bar. Experience:
Prior experience in personal injury law is preferred; experience in medical malpractice law is a plus. Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain complex legal issues to non-lawyers.
Must be bilingual, fluent in Spanish. Client-Centered Approach:
Compassionate, patient, and understanding when dealing with clients who may be in difficult situations. Organizational Skills:
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage a high volume of incoming leads efficiently. Tech Skills:
Proficient in case management software, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office Suite. Attention to Detail:
Strong analytical skills to ensure accurate intake assessments and documentation. Compensation and Benefits
Base pay range:
