Electrical Engineer – Supplier Technical Lead
You will be the Electrical Engineer – Supplier Technical Lead for the Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) Increment 1 Proximity Sensor (PS P) integration effort. Our team drives the design, qualification, and fielding of high‑performance proximity sensor hardware that enables next‑generation strike capability for the U.S. armed forces.
What You Will Be Doing As the Supplier Technical Lead, you will serve as the primary technical liaison for supplier management teams, ensuring that every electrical design, interface, and fabricated Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) meets the program’s rigorous performance, reliability, and schedule goals. You will guide the end‑to‑end development of the proximity sensor subsystem, from requirement review through lab test, on‑site supplier support, and failure review board activities. Your responsibilities include:
Reviewing electrical requirements, schematics, ICDs, and drawings for the proximity sensor system and related power interface hardware.
Providing technical leadership and day‑to‑day support to Supplier Management Teams, including on‑site visits to resolve failures and verify LRU performance.
Conducting research, root‑cause investigations, and problem‑resolution activities on hardware issues.
Updating and releasing subsystem designs, maintaining configuration control in Visio and PTC Windchill.
Planning, executing, and analyzing lab test and evaluation campaigns for sensor electronics.
Performing Material Review Board Engineer (MRBE) tasks and actively participating in Failure Review Board (FRB) actions.
Documenting findings, risk mitigations, and status reports directly to the program Electrical Engineer Lead.
Leveraging RF knowledge to assess antenna coupling, signal integrity, and electromagnetic compatibility aspects of the proximity sensor.
Mentoring junior engineers and fostering inclusive collaboration across mechanical, software, and test teams.
Why Join Us We are looking for a collaborative, results‑driven engineer who thrives in a fast‑paced, mission‑critical environment. You’ll work with a small, high‑visibility team that partners directly with suppliers, senior program leaders, and customers, giving you the chance to shape a critical missile subsystem from concept to fielded product. Lockheed Martin offers a flexible work schedule, competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and a culture that celebrates continuous learning and career growth.
Further Information This position is located in Dallas, Texas. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications
Experience in electrical hardware design for both development and production phases in aerospace or a similar industry.
Ability to interpret and read complex electrical schematics for circuit card assemblies (CCA).
Experience using electrical/electronic test equipment such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, and automated testing equipment for troubleshooting circuit card assemblies and other electrical hardware.
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Detail‑oriented with a focus on process and quality.
Desired Skills
Experience working on technical proposals; MRBE status with appropriate training/mentoring.
Experience with RF subsystems, RF design and schematic analysis.
Experience with failure investigation, root‑cause analysis, and corrective action.
Experience working with suppliers and leading supplier technical issue investigations.
Previous experience in a Material Review Board (MRB) role, particularly in a production setting.
Experience with non‑conformance disposition of hardware for production.
Prior experience with Lockheed Martin programs or similar defense contractors.
Familiarity with transition from development to production, including design issue resolution and optimization for mass production.
EEO Statement Lockheed Martin is an equal‑opportunity employer. Qualified candidates will be considered without regard to legally protected characteristics.
Application Window The application window will close in 90 days; applicants are encouraged to apply within 5‑30 days of the requisition posting date to receive optimal consideration.
