A large international client in Phoenix, Arizona is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with a strong background in the design and analysis of government and public sector facilities . This role involves leading structural engineering efforts for secure, mission-critical, and civic infrastructure projects, including federal buildings, military installations, and emergency response centers.
Key Responsibilities
Lead structural design for complex government facility projects, including secure and hardened structures.
Perform structural analysis and prepare detailed engineering reports and construction documents.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local building codes, including UFC, IBC, and DoD standards.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, civil, mechanical, and electrical engineers.
Mentor junior engineers and support project management with technical leadership.
Engage with government clients and stakeholders to ensure project alignment with mission objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
8+ years of experience in structural engineering, with at least 3 years on government, military, or industrial projects.
Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., RISA, ETABS, SAP2000).
Familiarity with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), Anti‑Terrorism / Force Protection (AT / FP) standards, and seismic design.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
5+ years of structural engineering experience.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
