Opportunity Overview This is a 1-year contract assignment (W-2) based in Jupiter, FL. The position is remote from home and reports to the onsite manager.

Qualifications include working knowledge of 10CFR50.59 and experience in the commercial nuclear industry. The role involves technical interface with engineering firms on project development and preparation/review of engineering documents using industry and regulatory standards.

Your Day‑to‑Day

Prepare, review, and verify design output documents (design changes, calculations, specifications) for internally developed design changes.

Focus on design/project engineering rather than project management.

Apply knowledge of applicable industry and nuclear standards, the nuclear industry design process, independent design verification, and preparation of stand‑alone electrical calculations and procurement specifications.

Use expertise in molded case circuit breakers, motor starters, thermal overloads, low‑ and medium‑voltage power breakers and switchgear, industrial battery chargers, inverters/UPS, 125 Vdc battery systems, emergency diesel generators (EDGs), large dry‑type or oil‑filled transformers, main generators, and voltage regulators.

Follow 10CFR50.59 in all deliverables.

Who You Are

B.S. degree in engineering.

At least 12 years of collective nuclear experience in U.S. nuclear power plants (international experience is not considered).

Current experience developing electrical or I&C design change packages for nuclear plant modifications, including calculations, specifications, and analysis.

Experience with ladder logic, electrical schematics, NSCA/Safe Shutdown analysis (Appendix R/NFPA 805), power systems analysis (load flow, short‑circuit analysis, arc flash, coordination studies), and computational tools such as ETAP or EDISON is desirable.

Prior experience as an oversight engineer or engineering project manager is a plus but not required.
