Sr. Network Engineer
Location: New York City, NY
Salary: $65.00 USD Hourly - $70.00 USD Hourly
Contract Period: 9 month
Work Location: New York Metropolitan area; 30% travel
PLEASE NOTE: This position will conduct simulation test and onsite interviews.
Key Requirements
100% hands‑on experience (to be tested on simulation exercises in CCNP Enterprise (ENSLD, ENARSI, ENWLSD) and/or CCNP Security (SISE))
Design enterprise networks – switching and routing
Solid background and understanding of Aruba or Cisco wireless
Strong experience in collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, including vendors, carriers, facilities, security, accounting, overseas teams, and others
Expertise in understanding and implementing network access control, authentication, authorization, and identity directories, such as Active Directory
Key Responsibilities
Design and architect scalable, secure, and high‑performing Wi‑Fi networks for enterprise corporate offices, campuses, and remote sites
Conduct wireless site surveys (predictive and physical) using tools like Ekahau or AirMagnet
Oversee the installation, configuration, and tuning of wireless access points (APs), controllers, and related infrastructure (e.g., Aruba, Cisco, Meraki, Ruckus)
Develop and implement Wi‑Fi security standards, including WPA3, 802.1X, RADIUS integration, and rogue AP detection
Monitor wireless network performance, capacity, and usage to identify and resolve coverage issues and bottlenecks
Collaborate with other network, security, and application teams to ensure seamless connectivity and integration
Lead or support large‑scale wireless projects, including upgrades, redesigns, and new deployments
Expert understanding of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking
Technically proficient at building highly resilient networks in an enterprise
Strong knowledge of network management platforms
Maintain and update documentation: network diagrams, SOPs, and topology maps
Provide mentorship to junior network engineers and assist with technical training initiatives
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards (e.g., PCI‑DSS, HIPAA)
Participate in on‑call rotation and respond to critical wireless outages or performance incidents
