Senior Controls Engineer is responsible to coordinate the activities of controlled system electric/electronic (E/E) architecture and components as a core team member of an OEM project. The CSAE guarantees compliance of components and systems to specifications, provides alternative solutions to meet cost targets, proposes innovative solutions to customers, supports pre‑development activities and research project needs in his/her field of expertise. Work is performed in a fast paced environment within tight time constraints. Unusual hours and travel may be required. Coordinates activities of Electronic Architecture team (CDE, CSA, & Validation) on electric/electronic (E/E) components & controlled system architecture as OEM project Core team member. Responsibilities

The CSAE works in synergy with all project team members to achieve project objectives through collaborative teamwork. Maintains day to day contact with customer on technical issues and promotes and applies Plastic Omnium specifications. Conducts design reviews on Controlled System Architecture and E/E components. Insures delivery of E/E component documentation to the OEM project team (drawings, BOM, DFMEA, DVP, test reports, control plans, corresponding presentations, other INPRO deliverables), Keeps PAE informed on BOM evolution. Insures manufacturability of E/E components. Defines the System E/E pin‑out for all prototype & production level systems and coordinates with the wire harness component development engineer and electronic validation engineer. Activities

Provides input for defining OEM milestone, monitors DFMEA’s, DVP and control plans for E/E components. Ensures components meet OEM requirements and are with‑in PO’s Component strategy. Contribute to the optimization of FMEA’s & DVP execution with SA&C & EA teams. Provides feedback from field experience to the SCR team members. Guarantees compliance of parts and systems to customer specifications. Issues regular reporting and re‑forecasting of product cost/metrics and of product development costs (Typically monthly). Optimizes product cost and product development costs, follows design to costs targets. Analyzes all relevant OEM specifications, standards, and specific requirements, cascades the effects of these requirements to the component engineer, OEM project manager, the SCR project manager, builds and follows the deviation lists. Identifies technical risks, defines and implements corrective action plan. Ensure reliability, safety, compliance to norms and regulations of products/system and to ergonomic rules. Supports SCR predevelopments and quotes for his/her assigned OEM & Supports R&D projects needs in his/her field of expertise. Participate in project design reviews, proposes & validates potential design enhancements and up‑grades. Analyzes all relevant OEM specifications, norms, and specific requirements, cascades the consequences to the component engineer, OEM project manager, the SCR project manager, builds and follows the deviation lists. Profile Required

Bachelor of Science in Engineering (electromechanical, or electrical) required. Minimum of 8 years’ experience in automotive industry, ideally with research or development Skills and Abilities. Experience in Electronic Control units and/or On‑board diagnostics. Demonstrated experience in architecture of automotive controlled systems. Knowledge of OBDI, OBDII & EOBD, requirements. Experience with CANanalyzer and CANOPE, and UNICAN data loggers, required. DIADEM, nice to have. Use of DOORS, Vector/Etas tools is a plus. DVP&R, DFMEA and BOM knowledge is required. Must contribute at a high level in a team environment. Good verbal and written communication skills. Good problem‑solving and multi‑tasking skills. Ability to read engineering drawings and electronic schematics. Excellent project coordination, communication and customer management skills required. Good practical knowledge of Microsoft Office. At ease and effective in a matrix, multicultural and fast evolving environment. Travel up to 10% domestic and international. Ability to work in a fast paced environment within tight time constraints.
