Under the direction of the Director of Engineering, the Aerospace Engineer is responsible for planning, managing, and executing aerodynamic and acoustic analysis, design, and testing. The Aerospace Engineer will contribute to team efforts by supporting sales proposals through performance predictions and technical presentations along with planning and managing workload with Safran Aero Boosters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan and manage Aero Acoustic Department workload in cooperation with Safran Aero Boosters
Test Cell aerodynamic and acoustic design, analysis, and test
CFD modeling and analysis (flow, thermal, acoustic)
Practice and encourage a First-Time-Right approach for preparation of design deliverables, per approved budget/schedule
Concept, design development and management for Safran Test Cells projects and R&D, including regular reporting and the development of the analytical work scope, estimated costs and schedules
Support sales proposals with analysis, reports, performance predictions and technical presentations
Maintain and improve Safran Test Cells Aerodynamic and Acoustic analysis tools
Technical support for model and full-scale aerodynamic testing
Domestic and international travel as required
Practice and encourage a First-Time-Right approach for preparation of design deliverables, per approved budget/schedule
Other duties as assigned
Candidate skills & requirements Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical or related field, with 3+ years of related experience required
CFD and FEA analysis experience
Engineering project management experience
Qualifications:
Highly organized, self-starter, team oriented
Strong analytical skills, CFD, FEA, FMECA, risk assessment
CAD and CAE; 3D Solid Modeling (Unigraphics NX preferred), Nastran FEA, MATLAB, Ansys and Fluent CFD proficiency
Proficient with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Clear and effective written and oral communication
Annual salary 75,000-85,000
