Description Under direction, responsible for leading daily operations of rehabilitation department services areas, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and lift team. Daily responsibilities include management of patient schedule, daily patient assignments, facilitating use of Assistants, overseeing regulatory compliance issues, and other related lead duties. Implements appropriate policies to ensure quality patient care in the absence of staff due to illness or emergencies. Participates in training and program development and represents the department to the medical and general community. Responsible for 1-2 major projects each year to improve operations of Rehabilitation Services (i.e. Performance Improvement). Demonstrates competence in the UC San Diego Health System Core Values and Leadership Core Competencies. Responsible for delivery of physical therapy services including evaluation and treatment of routine and complex patients.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy.

Occupational Therapist (OT) or Physical Therapist (PT) issued by the state of California.

BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six months of hire date.

Four (4) years of experience as a licensed Rehabilitation Services Therapist.

Preferred Qualifications

Five (5) years of experience as a licensed Rehabilitation Services Therapist.

Experience in a large complex healthcare organization.

Experience in leadership role with ability to run meetings.

Experience with departmental scheduling.

Documented participation in regulatory affairs.

Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range:

$114,381 - $150,879 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $54.78 - $72.26
