This leadership demands strong expertise in cloud infrastructure (AWS & Azure), observability, SRE practices, and cybersecurity, along with deep experience in shared services models for multi-tenant environments in the insurance or financial services industry. You will lead geographically dispersed teams, drive automation, monitoring, and secure infrastructure-as-code practices, and demonstrate a heightened sense of urgency balancing strategic priorities with meticulous planning and flawless execution.

Accountabilities Infrastructure & Cloud Strategy

Build scalable multi-tenant infrastructure supporting P&C mutual insurance clients with minimal rework and centralized operations.

Cybersecurity & Regulatory Compliance

Ensure security-by-design principles across all infrastructure and operational processes.

Oversee end-to-end security posture, including infrastructure and network security, cloud security, application and data security, security operations, threat detection, and incident response.

Lead regulatory compliance across frameworks such as NAIC, NYDFS, SOC 2, CCPA, and more.

Observability, Reliability & Automation

Implement robust site observability capabilities with log analytics, tracing, telemetry, and alerting tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, ELK, Grafana).

Drive reliability engineering with well-defined SLOs, SLIs, and automated remediation runbooks.

Establish best-in-class monitoring, alerting, and response pipelines across all environments.

DevSecOps & Infrastructure-as-Code

Champion Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Helm, and Ansible for consistent, secure, and rapid provisioning.

Build a modern DevSecOps pipeline for continuous integration and delivery of secure infrastructure and platform updates.

Promote containerization strategies using Kubernetes (AKS, EKS) to improve scalability and portability.

ITSM, Service Desk & End User Computing

Lead ITSM practices aligned with ITIL standards, leveraging platforms such as ServiceNow or BMC Remedy.

Oversee enterprise service desk, end-user devices, identity & access management, and collaboration platforms (M365, Zoom, Teams).

Optimize user experience through automation, knowledge bases, and tiered support models.

Production Operations & Support

Ensure 24x7 operational continuity for mission-critical systems with robust DR/BCP, incident response, and capacity planning.

Manage runbooks, post-incident reviews, and root-cause analysis frameworks for continuous improvement.

Model a hands-on leadership style, stepping in where needed to resolve critical issues.

Post-M&A Integration

Lead seamless onboarding and integration of IT infrastructure for acquired mutual insurance companies.

Standardize and scale infrastructure components and security controls across new and existing entities.

KPI, Metrics & Performance

Define and report on operational metrics including uptime, MTTR, SLA adherence, security incident resolution, and infrastructure cost optimization.

Continuously raise the bar on operational maturity and performance visibility.

Skills & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.

15+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including 7+ years in senior infrastructure or operations leadership roles.

Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure), security frameworks (NIST, SOC 2, ISO 27001), infrastructure-as-code, container orchestration, monitoring, CI/CD, DevSecOps pipelines, and ITSM platforms.

Proven success leading multi-entity shared infrastructure models and delivering measurable cost savings through modernization and automation.

Experience in regulated industries (Insurance, Financial Services) with strong compliance knowledge.
