About the Job:

The Biochemistry Group within the Global Antigen Design (GAD) Department contributes to the development of vaccine candidates from early prototype optimization to IND‑enabling activities. As a co‑op, you will support the development of next‑generation vaccines targeting respiratory pathogens (influenza, RSV, hMPV, COVID). Your primary focus will be on vaccine candidate characterization using protein expression, purification and various biophysical assays.

Main Responsibilities:

Complete specific laboratory research tasks under supervision, producing high‑quality data.

Read scientific literature and engage with the team to learn biochemistry concepts.

Maintain and update experiment notebooks per QA requirements.

Assist with lab and equipment maintenance and restocking supplies.

Attend group meetings and present data.

About You

Basic qualifications:

Enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in life sciences, biochemistry or related field, expected to graduate by Spring 2028.

Will relocate to Waltham, MA and work 40 hrs/week, Monday‑Friday, for the full duration of the co‑op.

Authorized to work in the U.S. permanently and not require future visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

Programming skills in R, Python, or C#.

Experience in biochemistry, cell culture, aseptic technique, or lab automation.

Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work independently and in a team.

Ability to perform experiments from written instructions while learning new procedures.
