As a Power Distribution Project Engineer, you will have direct and daily contact with our customers, suppliers, and internal sales teams. You will be tasked with applying engineered-to-order industrial power distribution technologies, readily available in today’s marketplace, to best meet our customers’ ideas for success. Success is measured by meeting technical and performance-based objectives while working towards exceeding customer requirements and expectations. You will use technical knowledge of product offerings to advise and support our sales teams and project managers with implementing effective solutions based on our customers’ requirements. Responsibilities

May attend customer meetings with Technical Account Managers to help better articulate AWC’s Power Distribution capabilities Provides remote and / or face-to-face project scoping assistance to stakeholders and prepares initial budgetary proposals for projects that lack a well-defined scope Applies products and technologies that most effectively meet customer needs, and acts as a liaison in providing vendors with technical scope and direction Stewards the implementation of custom solutions, and develops accompanying schematics, drawings, and specifications as needed Creates and sends RFQs to manufacturers for major electrical equipment Reviews technical project requirements and produces a unified clarifications / deviations / exceptions document for all project offerings Assists the Project Manager with compiling the AWC Scope of Work document Responsible for the technical accuracy, completeness, and quality of outgoing AWC proposals Participates in and provides technical expertise in all stakeholder meetings with customers and manufacturers Monitors project orders with our manufacturing partners for technical compliance to specifications and good design practices Reviews drawings (preferably with customer) to ensure technical compliance and to avoid unnecessary redesign and issues during equipment installation / startup Assists Project Manager with technical aspects of change management Monitors design and construction of custom AWC power automation solutions, typically designed by the local Power Application Engineer, ensuring that all project-supplied power equipment contains the necessary features to integrate effectively with outside systems Provides technical assistance to the Project Manager to help drive post-shipment issues to completion. Will likely include visits to the project site along with the local Power AE Attends factory inspections and tests. Works with vendor and customer to ensure the test plan is adequate to meet customer’s Q / C needs Works with Local Power AE to ensure onsite oversight during vendor-supplied Startup & Commissioning activities Will occasionally need to develop and deliver technical presentations used to engage customers or assist sales teams’ understanding of power distribution applications Product Examples

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering OR Engineering Technology Degree with three years of experience interacting with engineered power distribution products (design, purchasing, selling, troubleshooting) Knowledge of : Project management practices & procedures; Smart Power Systems; Electric power distribution products, listed above, and their application in the industrial environment; Pricing strategies; Distribution channels; Technology trends & emerging technologies. Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills with the ability to communicate accurately and effectively. Must be able to effectively interface with a variety of technical as well as project management teams Detail oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously Computer skills, ability to use Microsoft Office / Teams tools to analyze and solve routine problems Here’s what will set up apart
