Assistant Professor - Chemistry & Biochemistry (Tenure-Track)
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at The City College of New York (CCNY), the flagship campus of the City University of New York (CUNY), invites applications for a tenure‑track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in organic chemistry broadly defined, starting Fall 2026. The successful candidate will develop a world‑class, externally funded research program.
The new faculty member will occupy laboratory space in the new state‑of‑the‑art Center for Discovery and Innovation on the south campus of CCNY and will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses and mentor students at the undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral levels. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and research accomplishments.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work full‑time in the United States.
Qualifications
Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related discipline is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Significant postdoctoral research experience in a relevant field.
Demonstrates the potential to maintain an extramurally funded research program.
Experience mentoring student researchers.
Ability to contribute to service and teaching roles.
Compensation Salary Range: $90,838 – $102,017.
