Staff Software Engineer - DeVops
role at
Arm The Central Engineering Software Group is responsible for developing and improving the software eco-system around Arm's next generation of applications processors. As a member of the Engineering Infrastructure team, you will have the opportunity to build upon your existing background, knowledge and expertise to provide automated build, test and development solutions along with support to both internal and external software engineering communities. We seek proactive individuals with experience and understanding of automation tooling, containerisation, CI pipelines, cloud platforms and system administration. We will provide training and mentoring around new technologies and internal processes.
Responsibilities
Providing software build and test solutions catering to different market segments such as Mobile, Server, IoT and Automotive Lifecycle management of core project infrastructure, from design through to deployment, maintenance, and performance optimisation Continuous improvement of workflow quality, security, and efficiency Customer support, providing timely analysis and resolution of issues, requirements analysis and task breakdown Communication & collaboration with engineering IT, software development teams and the open source community
Required Skills and Experience
Prior experience in a DevOps/Infrastructure engineering position, preferably involving use of cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP Experience of delivering solutions using virtualisation and containerisation technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, OpenStack, Rancher, and Harvester Knowledge of automation and “Infrastructure as Code” tooling such as Terraform & Ansible Experience of maintaining a lab/server room environment, including device installation, Unix (Linux) Systems Administration, OS provisioning and configuration management Strong understanding of security best practices and SDL Strong technical knowledge with prior experience of leading a team Your strong interpersonal skills are important for success; we are looking for excellent written and spoken English and the capability to support key partners with their internal development programs
Nice To Have
Experience of developing CI/CD pipelines using common DevOps tooling (Jenkins, Gitlab, BuildBot, Gerrit) Experience of DevSecOps, zero trust architecture, policy-as-code and Software Bill of Materials Prior exposure to security frameworks such as CIS Benchmarks and NIST guidelines Familiarity with open source project development cycles and contribution processes, particularly around CI/CD infrastructure Familiar and flexible with various software development lifecycle methods including Agile

Salary Range
$191,100-$258,500 per year
